Giving Back: Don’t Count the Days, Make the Days Count

Author: Bill DiMasi, VP of Marketing at MetroWall

Believe it or not, 2023 is winding down. We all hear the same familiar refrain this time of year: “Where did the time go?” or “I can’t believe another year is almost over!” Guilty as charged! I often say that as November turns to December. The busier life gets, the faster time flies. It’s why it’s so important to pause to reflect.

Throughout the year, and especially during the holiday season, we think about supporting others. At MetroWall, we often speak about building and connecting with our community. Our company’s DNA drives us to find ways to do more. This year, our “More is Possible” energy during the holiday season focuses on donating to two organizations that are significantly giving back to our community: the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and Help USA.

Statistics show that more than 44 million people in the US face hunger, including 1 in 5 children. Because food scarcity is a significant problem in our region, the MetroWall team conducted a food drive and donated non-perishable items to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley before Thanksgiving. This organization dedicates itself to alleviating hunger while preventing the waste of wholesome food.

Also, reports indicate that more than half a million individuals are experiencing homelessness in America, and that number is rising. In December, we partnered with Help USA, an organization that provides shelter and support to individuals and families in need. MetroWall team members are currently conducting a toy drive, in partnership with VVA Project & Cost Managers, to collect toys that they will distribute during Christmas. This donations will help raise the spirits of many children at a time when hope and joy are so desperately needed.

We often count the days throughout the year, and time passes all too quickly. We want to wish all our clients and partners a happy holiday season and remind everyone to make every day count in 2024!

Bringing Functionality & Customization at Dual-Location Project

We recently worked with the team at Fusion Design Consultants on a dual-location project for a Healthcare & Finance Tech company. One project was located in Morristown, NJ and the other was based in Boston, MA. But while the spaces were for the same client, the goals for each space and, in turn, the design were very different.

The Morristown space was a large-scale project that called for nearly 1,000 linear feet of glass. The client went with a butt-glazed VETRO Series with standard matte black frames for this space. The design not only met the current day-to-day operations but was also created to meet the company’s future needs as it grows.

On the other hand, the tenant’s Boston office design called for several custom elements. The LP Series provided a minimal look throughout the office space and the EXTEND Series in the executive office gave the tenant the ability to quickly and easily open up the space and maximize the footprint. One of the most noticeable custom elements throughout the space is the shadow gold frame finishes.
