Ease the Pain of RTO with Glass Interiors

As of April 2025, nearly 70% of companies now have formal return to office (RTO) plans. Some are sticking with a hybrid schedule, while others are requiring employees back to the office full-time. For those Design and Build industries, this means we have a massive responsibility to create spaces that are not only functional, but also inspiring. Here at MetroWall, we’re experts in designing bespoke glass partitioning, and we work with clients to redevelop workspaces to find safe solutions tailored to your environment.

We’re passionate about bringing people together safely, and here’s how we do it:

Glass Office Wall Systems

The benefits of glass are clear: it’s a sustainable material that lends fluidity to indoor spaces and allows for the transfer of natural light. Whilst promoting a more open and transparent environment, glass partitions reduce the spread of infection and generate smaller areas that can be more easily cleaned and contained.

We have three series that all provide an extensive range of design possibilities for our clients:

ENDURE Series

With the ability to construct glass walls over ten feet high, the Endure Series meets the specific height requirements of various spaces without compromising aesthetics or structural integrity. At the heart of the Endure Series lies adaptability. The system accommodates custom glass requirements, ensuring your space reflects your unique style and purpose.

The ENDURE Series can support glass walls over 10 feet tall.

HUSH Series

With a 50 STC rating, the HUSH Series meets the sound privacy requirements coveted by many, while also providing the simplicity that fits seamlessly into bold, modern designs. This double-glazed system with butt-glazed glass panes boasts numerous design options. So, whether you’re looking for single glazing, face glazing, double glazing, or all thre,e the HUSH can seamlessly transition between all three.

VETRO Series

This versatile glass wall partition system provides endless options for offices of all shapes and sizes. Vetro designs can handle robust levelling tolerances and are super simple to integrate. This adaptable system can accommodate room schedulers, electric strikes, maglocks, and much more. Metro Wall specialists will work with your fit-out plans and visions to redesign a secure space for your staff.

LP Series

This is a real minimalist solution that lends style and fluidity to office spaces. With a ¾” bottom profile, the LP series aluminium profiles offer unrivalled transparency and aesthetics.

Compatible with room schedulers, electric strikes, maglocks, and most manufacturers’ hardware… the options are limitless. This innovative all-glass wall partition system accommodates ⅜” or ½” glass and a wide range of configurations.

For infection control that doesn’t compromise on design flair – our LP series is the right choice.

EXTEND Series

The EXTEND Series is the answer for flexibility in your designs. It allows tenants to easily transform their space. The EXTEND is a double-glazed operable glass partition that does not require steel support above, so you can avoid additional coordination, engineering costs, and trades.

DG Series

If you’re looking for enhanced privacy, then double glazed glass wall systems are the perfect solution. This functional system not only creates transparent safety barriers but also is designed to meet the sound and privacy requirements of the client.

Our DG Series accommodates single glazing and solid panels too – so you aren’t restricted to one type of panel.

Glass Door ADA Compliance: What to Know

ADA compliance is a critical component of making accessible and inclusive commercial environments for all users. But meeting these needs can be challenging for architects and designers. This is why having a trusted glass wall expert, like MetroWall, is so important. Some of the most common challenges we see A&D professionals facing are:

  • Space constraints
  • Cost considerations
  • Aesthetics
  • User experience
  • Complex regulations

Below are some answers to common questions we get asked about glass wall interiors and ADA compliance.

Are MetroWall’s systems ADA compliant?

Yes! All of our systems are ADA compliant. But it’s not just the systems themselves you need to keep in mind. Openings and other hardware decisions will impact ADA compliance.

Does MetroWall have ADA-compliant doors?

Yes, we offer ADA-compliant door options.

Being able to move throughout a space easily and safely is important. This makes entryways even more crucial. In the images below, notice how the “correct” design has a beveled edge, rather than a squared design. The beveled edges ensure nothing will get caught on the door frame when people are passing through.

Correct Incorrect
Correct ADA after

To accommodate wheelchairs, doors need to be at least 32″ wide, have 12″ of clearance on the Push Side, and have 18″ clearance on the Pull Side. Additionally, all door handles should be at least 10″ off the ground.

ADA compliant door handles are at least 10" off the ground.

What are some sensory considerations to keep in mind?

Depending on your client’s needs, you may want to consider glass wall systems with high-acoustic performance. For example, clients who need glass wall systems with high STC ratings, often choose our HUSH Series (50 STC) or ENDURE Series (51 STC). This combined with other elements in the space like ceiling systems, flooring, and more work together to significantly reduce/manage noise in a space.

Furthermore, having entries and rooms clearly labeled helps individuals navigate the space. These signs are on entryways, private rooms, and in some cases, even offices. Distraction markers help everyone be aware of glass. Markers need to be 60″ and 30″ above the finished floor. However, if you’re designing a space with lots of natural light, you should consider privacy film as well. This can decrease the glare while still optimizing the amount of light.

Film on glass minimize glare that may impact visually impared.

Where can I learn more about ADA compliance?

Continuous, specialist training keeps you ahead. We offer a course that goes into more detail about ADA compliance, the challenges A&D professionals face, and solutions to tackle these challenges. What you’ve read through here is just a taste of what we’ll cover. Especially for those working in high-traffic spaces in industries such as education, healthcare, and more, we highly recommend taking the AIA-credited course.

While there may be more requirements to meet, you still have plenty of options when it comes to creating inclusive spaces. Working with a professional glass partition manufacturer, like MetroWall, early on helps you ensure you’re meeting compliance and delivering on your vision. Get in touch with us for a consultation and to learn more about how we can help you bring your vision to life.

Why Powder-Coated Glass Wall Frames Are a Sustainable Choice

Choosing MetroWall’s powder-coated glass wall interior frames contributes to creating more sustainable and environmentally responsible commercial spaces. The reduced environmental impact during production, enhanced durability, and recyclability benefits make powder coating a clear winner over anodized finishes. Let’s take a closer look at these advantages

Reduced Environmental Impact During Production

Anodizing involves the use of harsh chemicals, including acids and heavy metals, which generate significant wastewater and require strict disposal processes. Powder coating, on the other hand, is a dry finishing process that eliminates the need for these hazardous chemicals and minimizes waste and pollution. Additionally, powder coating utilizes an electrostatic application process, allowing for precise and efficient coating of the frame. Any overspray can be collected and reused. So, the amount of waste is much lower compared to the liquid coatings used in anodizing. This results in lower VOC emissions during production and throughout the product’s lifetime, leading to a decrease in air pollution and health risks for manufacturers and end users alike.

Enhanced Durability and Longevity

Powder-coated frames create a robust and durable finish that provides excellent resistance to corrosion, scratches, and fading. This makes powder-coated frames a go-to for high-traffic spaces. But it can also mean less maintenance and replacements are required over the course of the product’s lifecycle.

Recyclability and End-of-Life Considerations

By extending the lifespan of interior frames, powder coating contributes to a reduction in landfill waste and environmental impact associated with disposal. But when it is time to dispose of these materials, the absence of chemicals in the powder-coated frames simplifies the process compared to anodized frames.

Elevating Workplace Experiences with Natural Light

Several studies demonstrates the importance and benefits of natural light in the workplace. Maximizing it can dramatically impact not only a person’s energy and well-being, but also their productivity. The problem? There is legacy of office spaces with limited natural light!

Back in the sixties, natural light was believed unnecessary for employee health. It was also believed windows would be distracting, create higher energy bills, and even cause eye strain and headaches. As a result, a wave of windowless construction and decades-long reign of fluorescent lighting occured that had some part to play in the ‘sick building syndrome’ throughout the eighties.

Today, however, we know differently. Being exposed to low levels of light is associated with poor sleep, low mood, and depression. Maximizing natural light is vital to health and wellbeing. And this is critical because many of us spend 90% of our day indoors.

A survey of 1,600 office workers across North America found that the No.1 thing employees wanted wasn’t fancy perks; they just want consistent access to natural light. And a view would be good too!

A collaborative study by the Interdepartmental Neuroscience program at Northwestern University in Chicago showed that employees with windows in the workplace slept an average of 46 minutes more per night than those without. Exposure to natural light enhances your body’s Vitamin D repository, promoting growth and bone development, fortifying your immune system, and supporting prevention of everything from cancer to heart disease. Plus, natural light can counteract the negative effects of sleep-disrupting blue light.

This is all to say: If we’re going to be ready to tackle challenges in the office and live healthier lives with sustainable habits, getting enough natural light is a must!

To create healthy, sustainable environments that optimize every person’s potential and impact positively on their mental and physical health, we’ve seen more and more architects and designers looking for ways to bring in natural light into a workspace.

Our glass wall interiors are not only modern and bold in appearance, but they offer many advantages for architects and designers prioritizing natural light in their projects, such as providing a more open, collaborative environment that can help boost creativity and a positive atmosphere. Maximizing the amount of natural light flowing into a room creates a bright and airy space. Adding glass wall interiors to an office is a popular decision that offers an excellent solution for both clients and their employees.

Leverage MetroWall’s Sustainable Products

Building with sustainable products is becoming more important by the day. With climate change high on the agenda, many of us in the construction industry are thinking of ways we can build and design spaces that don’t just do good for the occupants but do good for the planet too. When it comes to interior design, there are several factors to consider, one of which is whether or not you’re incorporating sustainable products. Drywall is are construction industry stalwart, but is there a superior choice available? We say, yes.

Glass Partitions are a worthwhile choice for several reasons. Not only can glass maximize the use of space, increase productivity and boost staff well-being, it can also make for a greener build.

1. Glass and Aluminum is Recyclable

Glass and aluminum are two of the most sustainable materials around. They’re fully recyclable and can be used over and over again without a drop in quality.

2. Glass Production Creates Less Waste

The amount of waste produced during the manufacture of glass is low and most of the waste can be collected, remelted and used to produce new glass.

3. Glass Cna Reduce Energy Consumption

Glass facilitates the flow of natural light, which doesn’t just contribute to increased staff wellbeing but also saves on the amount of energy used.

4. MetroWall is a Domestic Manufacturer

We probably *could* reach out to Europe or China for our glass manufacturer, but we don’t. Our manufacturing facility is based in Congers, NY and we have built a domestic supply chain. This helps us lower our carbon footprint and offer competitive lead times.

5. MetroWall End of Life Options

Our glass wall products are inherently sustainable, and the glass and aluminum used to make these materials are easily recycled.

Download our HPD and LEED documentation for more information about how our products can contribute to your sustainable designs.

These days, glass wall interiors are designed to seamlessly integrate with the most ambitious architectural designs to create inspiring interiors. At Metrowall, we work with some of New York’s most innovative architects to bring clients’ visions to life – glass solutions for the most beautiful, functional spaces.

And while glass partitions are a familiar sight in commercial office interiors, we’re seeing them increasingly commissioned for condos and lofts, hotels and more – an incredible way to create distinct areas without losing that feeling of true space.

Engineered and Tested

But we’re not just focused on the aesthetics – important though they are – our glass partitions and doors are expertly engineered and tested to the nth degree, so you can be assured of a top-quality product.

From experience, we expect and welcome a wealth of questions when specifying glass partitions. That’s why we have specialist technicians on-hand to provide comprehensive answers and offer their professional advice, so you can choose the perfect product for your specific needs.

Carefully designed and installed by dedicated teams, we’re all about world-class customer service and impeccable outcomes.

Competitive Lead-Times

We also help minimize disruption and support project efficiency by delivering a comprehensive service that happens mainly off-site. With production occurring elsewhere, you’ll only see us when we appear to measure and then deliver and install the finished product in double-quick time.

Of course, that’s only if you’re a MetroWall customer, because our lead times are the best in the business. Just three weeks from ordering to installation to transform office spaces and workplace ambiance.

A Broad Range of Product Offerings

We offer a wide range of glass wall products for architects and designers to choose from. Here’s a brief breakdown of our offerings:

  • ENDURE Series: This system is built for high-traffic environments. Think healthcare, financial institutions, and education. The system offers single and double glazing, an STC of 51, and can support walls up to 14 feet!
  • HUSH Series: This system offers a 50 STC rating and allows you to future-proof a space. Not only can the HUSH seamlessly transition back and forth between single and double glazing, but it can also be easily upgraded. So if you initially decided on a single-glazed partition and decide you need or want a double-glazed one, we can add a second pane of glass.
  • VETRO Series: If you need versatility, the VETRO is the way to go. It’s a single-glazed system that is compatible with all opening and door types.
  • LP Series: If you’re looking for a more minimal look, this system is for you. The LP Series’ bottom track is less than an inch wide and high, making it one of the smallest profiles on the market.
  • EXTEND Series: This system is the solution for flexibility. This operable wall allows end users to quickly reconfigure their space. But unlike many operable walls, the EXTEND uses a floor track, and that means you can save on engineering costs.
  • DG Series: This system is a high acoustic performer with a 50 STC rating. This is a favorite in EDU environments.
